After all the efforts of preparation, we have finally planted the clos. The varietal is Chardonnay, as it was in the past. The vines palnted were grafted onto a "selection massale" from our older vines. The vineyard was planted at 12,000 vines per hectare, which is nearly double the typical density in the Jura. The vine will be trained on "echalas" (up-right wooden poles) as in the past because the clos cannot be worked with tractors.
